05. WIN THE CULTURE WAR

The role of the Catholic Faith in the ongoing Culture War is to form young people who know their faith, take it seriously and are beacons of God's original plan for humanity.

There is a lot of “figuring things out” while growing up, and it’s not easy. Some would say that it is harder now than ever given all of the pressures of social media, a powerful and all-consuming  secular culture, and the many competing voices that mix with our own and the “still, small voice of God” in our hearts. Young people, in particular, need a safe harbor where the noise fades and the waters calm so they can learn to listen to God.

One of the saddest things parents and grandparents experience is when things that matter so much to them–faith, marriage, starting a family and creating a home–are not even considered by their children or grandchildren. They feel like they have “lost them” to the culture. At the same time they know all too well from their own deep experiences what their children and grandchildren are missing out on. It is painful!

St. Teresa’s is not political or partisan, nor swayed by the extremes of secular culture. It’s a place where the core truths of the Catholic Faith are not affected by the times. Our 20-30 weekly Bible study groups provide deep human connection and opportunities to talk and share about life’s events and challenges, all rooted in faith.
