Types of Donors

Pledge Donor—

The pledge donor spreads their commitment over several years. They are willing to pray for and thoughtfully support this project over the long haul. With every pledge reminder—monthly, quarterly, or annually—we hope they pause to sincerely pray for the project. We depend as much on their prayers as on their financial support.

One-Time Donors—

The one-time donor understands the importance of St. Teresa’s specifically, as well as Newman Centers in general. While they may have no particular connection to St. T’s, they believe deeply in the mission of Newman Centers and have seen their impact. They know that the Holy Spirit cares only about souls, not diocesan, state, national, or even international boundaries. They desire to take part in building up the Body of Christ.

Anchor Donors—

These are people who God has blessed abundantly with the capacity to give a larger gift. They worked hard, planned well, and lived with a dedication to their faith as well as their worldly work. They understand that generosity is not only a blessing to others, but also a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy of faith, hope, and service for generations to come.

Life-defining Donations—

Among all categories of donors, there are a few individuals or families who choose to make a “life-defining” donation. This means they are giving an amount that is truly significant for them, and that the memory of making such a meaningful contribution to the building of St. Teresa’s will bring them deep joy and peace for the rest of their lives. It is, in a real sense, “life-defining.”

Everyone should be a Savvy Donor—

Whatever type of donor you are, we encourage all to be “savvy donors.” There are ways to minimize tax burden, give now without affecting your lifestyle, and turn assets into meaningful gifts. Often, people have access to giving opportunities they don’t realize. For these situations, we recommend a free conversation with the Catholic Foundation of Southern Nebraska (www.catholicgift.org). While financial advisors and attorneys are skilled in their fields, they may not fully understand your priorities in giving. The Catholic Foundation specializes in generosity and begins with the assumption that giving is important to you.
