Anchor Donor Promises

We are grateful for all of our donors but the anchor donors play a special role in the project. Many people wish they were rich, without realizing that being wealthy comes with its own challenges. One challenge is that many will want you to support their good cause and even when it is something that you love and intend to help, you still have to decide how much to give. Here are some specific commitments that we make to anchor donors:

✝ We promise that prayer comes first. Helping you to pray and discern God’s will is more important to us than your contribution.

✝ We promise to give anchor donors an openness to float their initial thoughts about their contribution in conversation with us but to still give them time and space for discernment.

✝ We promise to deeply respect the unique social sensitivities that Nebraskans–and especially rural Nebraskans–bring to the topic of wealth and giving.

✝ We promise to create an environment of clear and accurate project information so that anchor donors know exactly what effect their contribution will have.

✝ We promise to use our position as a kind of broker in the middle of everything to balance the load across as many different anchor donors as possible. The best conclusion is when people feel like they made a big contribution but were not the only one to do so.

✝ We are very grateful when people offer financing loans as well as actual contributions. We promise to treat any loan as a loan that will be paid back. Period.

✝ We promise to do precisely what the anchor donor wishes in terms of recognition. Nothing more, nothing less. Many naming rights are available if anchor donors wish to discuss.

✝ We promise to absolutely protect privacy and anonymity if requested. At any moment an anchor donor can contact Fr. Neal Hock or Brent Johnson to manage their contribution and if the donor wishes, we promise that knowledge of whatever is said or done will be protected forever.

✝ We promise that even if we exceed the Gift Range Chart goals for anchor donors, we will still work to achieve 10,001 different donors. Part of the impact from the project comes from many people knowing about and contributing to the effort.
