04. FUTURE OF THE CHURCH

Newman Centers foster priestly vocations and form young Catholics who are the future of the Church.

Across the nation, 75% of all seminarians report that interaction with a Newman Center and the organization Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) played a crucial role in helping them discern God’s call to the joys and service of priestly vocation. Seminarians in the Catholic Diocese of Grand Island confirm this when recounting their own paths toward the priesthood.

God sends out the graces of vocations to the priesthood, holy marriages, and religious life abundantly, but responding to these graces requires an environment of prayer, the Sacraments, and good spiritual direction…all of which are the heartbeat of St. Teresa’s.

Newman Centers are places where the people who will one day run your parish learn how to be the leaders who can do this. Whether serving on the Parish Council, or being a Lector, or running a Bible study, Newman Centers are where young people have these experiences and develop their confidence.
